JMM writes to ECI against Jayant Sinha

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has described the speech given by Union Minister Jayant Sinha in a convocation of IIM as a violation of model code of conduct and has written a letter to the Election Commission of India to debar him from contesting the polls. Party’s Central General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said that the model code of conduct clearly says that any minister of a state or Central government should try not to participate in convocation of any educational institution or university and if necessary should not make any political speeches but Mr Sinha highlighted achievements of the central and state government and also his department and
even asked the students to vote and make Narendra Modi Prime Minister once again.

Adding further he said that after the Lok Sabha polls were declared on March 10 the model code of conduct came into effect according to which the Chief Minister or any other cabinet minister should not use any government vehicle but Chief Minister used the helicopter on March 11th to come to Ranchi from Jamshedpur and participated in a political program thereafter on March 13 he used the helicopter to attend a function at the residence of MLA Janki Yadav and pointed that it appears that the government helicopter has become a campaign vehicle for the BJP. Mr Bhattacharya said that even no action has been taken on the issues raised over the present DGP of the state and ADG and on the chief secretary who was functioning on extension and pointed that even many SPs are working in their home district.
