Chief Electoral Officer holds video conferencing with all the DEOs

Ranchi: Chief Electoral Officer L Khiyangate Saturday held a review meeting with all the district electoral officer through video conferencing over the preparations for the elections. Review was held on EVM-VVPAT machines, following the model code of conduct, registration of complaints on the C vigil app related to violation of model code of conduct , training of people involved in election,
facilities to be provided at the booth, facilities to be provided at the pink booth for the women and model boths, availability of the employees for election work along with publishing of material related to advertisement was taken up during the review.

He also asked all the Divisional Commissioners to hold a review of election-related works at their own level. He said that in the entire state the model code of conduct has come into effect and it should be implemented at any cost and pointed that in case of any complaint is registered on the C vigil app related to violation of model code of conduct then the same would be undertaken for necessary action within 100 minutes for which he directed to make sure that the control room remains an alert. 

Mr Khiyangate also directed to submit a report related to the training program of the people to be deployed on election duty materials related to polling booths use and security of EVM and VVPAT machines and facilities to be provided at the polling booths. He also directed the district electoral officer to ensure that the name of the printer and the publisher along with the number of published material should be mentioned in the advertisement to be issued by the political parties and their candidates. He said that during the polls the provisions for liquor ban should be followed and directed the district electoral officer to ensure that the excise department conducts the necessary action which is needed once the model code of conduct comes into effect.
