Khunti: In a major success for the Khunti police three smugglers have been arrested with more than 8 kilograms of opium. Briefing
the news Khunti SP Alok said that he had received a secret tip off that some men in an SUV were going to Ranchi to sell the opium.
He said that a team under SDPO Ashish Kumar Mahali apprehended a vehicle near Tajna Jora Bridge from which two men along with
6 kilograms of opium and a couple of smartphones were arrested. He said that the arrested have been identified as Soma Munda
and Nauniya Hauns. Further one Mudhu Munda alias Muttu Munda was arrested from Saiko police station area along with his steel can which was filled with 2.300 kilograms of opium.
The SP said that so far the Khunti police has seized more than 90 kilograms of opium in the district.
