2,20,753 new voters for first time to cast their votes

Ranchi: In the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Jharkhand 2,20,753 voters would cast their votes for the first time.

According to the last electoral rolls published on January 1, 2019 for the age group of voters between 18- 19 years their numbers was
at 2,20,753 which included 1,33,668 male voters and 87,056 female voters. State’s Chief Electoral Officer L Khiyangate said that the number of new voters was so far tentative as according to the provisions of the Election Commission of India till the process of nominations is complete new voters will be added into the list, therefore, it is expected that the number would further rise up. He said that the election commission was making all efforts to add new names and include those names which have been left out from the list
so that the vote percentage can be increased.

In the list which was declared on January 1, 2019 the number of third gender voters is 29 and maximum 11 are from Lohardaga Lok Sabha area while the numbers in Dumka was 3 while in Rajmahal 2, Godda 1, Koderma 2, Dhanbad 2, Ranchi 2, Jamshedpur 1, Singhbhum 2, Palamu 2 and Hazaribagh 1. Lok Sabha seats of Khunti, Giridih and Chatra has no third gender voters in the list. Among the Lok Sabha areas the maximum number of new voters have been added in Palamu in the age group 18-19 at 30,158 followed by Ranchi Lok Sabha area with 26,956 voters while had the least numbers at 9800 new voters.
