Two poachers nabbed with deer meat and gun in Betla

Latehar: A team of the forest department has arrested a couple of poachers along with deer meat from the Betla National Park. Forest Ranger Ashok Kumar said that he had received a secret tip-off that ten suspicious people were roaming in Kevaldah Jheel area near Palamu forest a team went for inspection which found blood marks on the road. However, getting a sniff of the forest team the poachers fled and reached into nearby Silaiya village.

The forest team also entered into the village and on suspicion questioned one Jhaman Pharia who confessed to his crime and meat of dear was also found in his home. Another poacher Ramdeo Paharia was also nabbed with the gun and meat. The duo confessed that after killing the dear they use to sell its meat in the city at Rs 500 per kilogram and also revealed names of their other gang members. Post the incident the forest department has put up a camera in the area to keep an eye on the poachers.
