Ranchi: Industries Secretary K Ravikumar held a review meeting over the promotion of bamboo mission and renewal energy in which he said that in the days to come on barren and nonusable land bamboo would be planted which would lead to prosperity of the farmers. During the meeting, he called on the farmers to cultivate bamboo on barren land and said that bamboo of not so good quality can be given to cement industries for renewable energy cultivation. He said that bamboo would also be purchased by Dalmia cement at Rs 2500 per tonne. He said that farmers can sell their bamboo every three years.

The official said that members of Small Cottage Industries Board and Krishi Mitras would inform the farmers in this regard.
