Latehar: In a joint operation carried out by the district police and CRPF’s 11th battalion five IEDs recovered from Sasang forest under
Heranj Police Station area of this district. Police sources said that Latehar SP Prashant Anand had received a secret tip-off regarding explosives kept by the Maoists which a team conducted search operations during which these IEDs were recovered which were kept in a plastic gunny bag.
When the bag was opened four cylinder bombs of five kilograms and another 10 kilograms of bomb was
recovered which was defused by a bomb disposal squad. Police said that Maoists had kept these IEDs just 200 meters away from the main road to inflict damage during the upcoming Lok Sabha polls which were prevented by the police.
