Jharkhand gets second award in best performing states in cleanliness report 2019

Ranchi: The Urban Development ministry Government of India on Wednesday declared the results of the cleanliness survey 2019. On the occasion, the representatives of the best performing cities were awarded by president Ram Nath Kovind. In the competition which was held among more than 4200 cities, Jharkhand got the second award in the category of best performing States while the award for best performer went to Chhattisgarh. Overall in the cleanliness survey, 2019 9 cities of Jharkhand were awarded in separate categories.

Capital Ranchi received an award in the category of citizen feedback while the state was also given the second award in the category of best performer City. Urban Development Minister of Jharkhand CP Singh collected the award in the best performing state category for Jharkhand. Among the category of cities of the east zone having a population between 25000 to 50000 Pakur was
declared the cleanest city while among the cities which are located on the bank of Ganga Sahibganj was declared the third best
in the country. Raj Mahal in the entire country received the second best city award in the category of cleanliness in the cities which are located on the bank of Ganga. In the east zone for solid waste management practices, 

Phusro was declared the best city. In the east zone itself in the category of citizen feedback Chakradharpur received the award for the best city having a population between 25000 to 50000. For Innovation and best practices in East zone cities, Gumla was felicitated while among cities having more than 50000 population on citizen feedback Chatra was adjudged the best city. This year the survey was held for a total of 5000 marks and on this basis, the rankings of the different cities were done.

Urban Development Minister CP Singh for this success has congratulation the Urban Development Department and all the urban local bodies and their representatives. He said that without the cooperation of the people it was not possible to have become the best performer in the cleanliness survey and for this, the common people also needed to be congratulated.
