Dumka: A local court in this district awarded three convicts life imprisonment in a murder case and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each. The court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Omprakash Singh awarded the punishment to Anil Mandal, Srikant Mandal and Jaikant Mandal and also ordered them to jointly pay a compensation of Rs 1.20 lakh to the parents of the deceased. Failing to pay the fine the trio would have to undergo further imprisonment of two more years.
Public prosecutor Awadh Bihari Singh said that following a land dispute in Bandari village under Sariyhaat Police Station area of January 6, 2015 an 18 year old youth was strangulated to death after which an FIR against the convicted was lodged by the father of the deceased.
