Ramgarh: An area commander of the PLFI was killed in an encounter between the police personnel in Badki Tundi on the bordering areas of Ramgarh and Bokaro district under Kuju OP. The deceased has been identified as Bajiram Mahto. Police sources said
that police had received a secret tip-off regarding the presence of Mahto in the forest area after which a raid was conducted. Later
an encounter took place between the ultras and the police in which Mahto was killed.
Bajiram was wanted in connection with the murder of CPI leader Baleshwar Mahto which had taken place on October 15 last year. He was also wanted in the kidnapping of AJSU leader Jaleshwar Mahto. Mahto was also wanted in various other cases of abduction in Chatra and in neighbouring West Bengal.
