Raghubar announces Rs 1000 per month to Jal Sahiyas

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das that woman masons and ‘Jal Sahiyas have increased the honour of the state and said that it was due to the active participation of the women that Jharkhand became ODF one year before its original target. Addressing a state level meeting of the Jal Sahiyas at Khelgaon here he also announced that from March 2019 they would be provided Rs 1000 as honorarium apart from the incentive and this money would be directly sent into their accounts through DBT. He said that the women had been demanding that they were not getting honorarium and their demands have been fulfilled by the present government he said that apart from that they would also be provided incentives for separate works.

The Chief Minister said that women Masons of the state managed to attract attention across the country and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Mann Ki Baat program lauded the works being done by them. He said that women power was the biggest base of social change in the state and they are actively involved in agriculture Industries animal husbandry Horticulture and small and cottage industries in the state. He said that in the year 2014 odf percentage in Jharkhand was just 18 pc but in the last 4 years it has become an odf state and on a mission mode toilets were constructed under the Swachh Bharat mission in the state for which the minister for drinking water and sanitation and officials of the department needed to be congratulated. He said that now work has come to work to fulfil the goal of ODF plus mission as the government plans to dedicate a clean Jharkhand on the occasion of 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The Chief Minister said that in future the Jal Sahiyas would be provided plumber training so that they can get employment in that sector.

Mr Das said that despite 67 years of Independence none of the governments paid their attention towards the problems of the women but after Prime Minister Narendra Modi came into power the women started to get recognition. He said that by realising the pain of the women Prime Minister Modi started construction of toilets on a mission mode under the Swachh Bharat scheme due to which women are living a life of respect and said that women no longer are less as compared to men in any field and said that all they need is a platform which is being provided by the state government to showcase their talent. He said that it is a top priority for the government to ensure that water in every home reaches through pipeline by the year 2020 and said that in the primitive tribe dominated villages under Mukhyamantri Jan Jal Yojana water would be taken through pipelines and this scheme would benefit 10 lakh people.
