CM kicks off Sujalam Sufalam Yojana from Dumka

Dumka: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Sunday launched the sujalam sufalam Yojana from Dumka of the Santhal Pargana division.

Addressing a function organised on this occasion he said that Dumka and Kunti districts have been selected as pilot projects under this Yojana. He said that renovation of 5000 pounds and other reservoirs would be conducted by Tata trust in the state and an MoU in this regard has been already inked. He said that the scheme is aimed at making water arrangements for the farmers before the start of the monsoon season so that they can become self-reliant as when the land will be irrigated then only the farmers would become prosperous. Mr Das asked the farmers present on the occasion to give an application regarding the renovation of the ponds and reservoir which needed to be taken in their area.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister has from Gorakhpur of Uttar Pradesh launched Pradhan Mantri Krishi Samman Nidhi Yojana under which in the first phase 12 crore farmers from across the country including 5 lakh farmers from the state have been covered who have been given a sum of Rs 2,000 in their accounts in the first phase through DBT and in different phase 22.76 lakh small and marginal farmers of the Jharkhand would be covered under this scheme.

Adding further he said that under Mukhyamantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana before the monsoon season in the month of May farmers would be given a sum of Rs 5000 for minimum of 1 acre of land while maximum of Rs 25000 would be given in their accounts through DBT however in this scheme money would not be given in installment and said that the farmers of Jharkhand are getting the benefit of double engine government in the country.

The Chief Minister said that in the tribal and dalit dominated villages of the state drinking water through deep boring would be supplied in their homes using solar power and the work would be visible from April 2019. He said that it is the effort of the government that facilities in the villages should be similar to like in the cities therefore street lights and construction of roads through paver blocks would be undertaken in the villages which would be done by the Mukhiya through the funds of the 14th Finance Commission.
