SUGAM launched for effective vehicle management in LS polls

Ranchi: The Election Commission of India has taken many initiatives to ensure transparent planned and uninterrupted conduct of upcoming Lok Sabha polls and one such initiative was Sugam vehicle management system. State’s Chief Electoral Officer L Khiyangate said that under this system application for arrangements of vehicle forming the logbook movement of vehicles from one district to another name of the vehicle owners and drivers would be maintained online.

He said that through this software that district electoral officer can look into the vehicle needs for their various jobs and added that the software will also keep track of fuel supplied to the different vehicles along with the rates of the types of the fuel being used.
Mr Khiyangate said that on previous occasions it has been found that lots of trouble is faced to address the work related to tracking and payment of the vehicles and said that Sugam would help is out many such problems.
