Women and daughters have got honour after Modi Govt came into power: Raghubar

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that women and daughters in the country have got honour only after Prime Minister Narendra Modi came into power.

Addressing the people after distributing free of cost LPG connection and gas stove under Ujjwala Yojana here he said that the central government has launched many schemes keeping in mind the all round development of the villages poor farmers youth and women. He said that the central government launched many new initiatives including construction of toilets under Swach Bharat Abhiyaan, Ujjwala Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, Skill development programmes which are being successfully implemented in Jharkhand in coordination with the central government he said adding that in the last four and half years Jharkhand has been brought to stand among the developed states of the nation.

The Chief Minister said that it is the thought of the Prime Minister that the country will only progress when the women are strong and made prosperous. He said that Mr Modi understood the pain of the women across the country and started the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala
Yojana for them. Mr Das said that the Jharkhand government worked together with the central government and on a mission mode
implemented this scheme in the state.

The Chief Minister said that in the year 2014 out of 68 lakh families only 16.50 lakh families had gas cylinder while at the present
gas cylinder and gas stove is available with 50 lakh families which means in the last four and half years about 32 lakh families were
provided cylinder and LPG stoves under this scheme and pointed out that Jharkhand was the first state where the beneficiary is also getting the first refill of the cylinder free of cost.

He said that complete transparency has been maintained in the implementation of the Ujjwala Yojana in the state as it is the priority of the central and state government to make the women get rid of the smoke. He said that now such families have been also included in this scheme who do not have a prior gas connection in their families and under this the connection could be provided only in the name
of the woman and assured that by November 2019 among the remaining 14 lakh families gas cylinder and LPG stoves would be
provided.

The Chief Minister said that to ensure that the schemes are successfully implemented in the state 20 point programme execution committees have been formed and said it is the result of the coordination between the Oil Companies members of the 20 point
committee and the common people that Jharkhand has achieved hundred percent results in implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

The Chief Minister said that many ambitious schemes have been launched for the empowerment of the woman in the state and realising their problems the Swachh Bharat mission campaign was started on a mission mode in Jharkhand. He said that ODF
percentage in Jharkhand in the year 2014 was just 18 pc which has increased to 99 pc and said that the state government has achieved the target of making Jharkhand a complete ODF state in which the women masons women self help group and Jal sahiyas have played an important role. 

He said that empowerment and prosperity of the woman has been a key focus area of the state government and in the last four and half years more than 1 lakh Sakhi Mandal have been formed and among them 62000 Sakhi Mandal belong to the tribal women. He said that apart from providing training these Sakhi mandals have been provided bank linkages and are being encouraged to undertake
animal husbandry poultry and small employment generation schemes including manufacturing of a school dress and stitching.
He said that empowerment of the women would also help to strengthen the rural economy and pointed that Jharkhand was the lone
state in the country where the property in the name of a woman was being registered at just Re 1 and so far 1.22 lakh sisters have taken advantage of this scheme. 

The Chief Minister said to realise the objective of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao the Sukanya Yojana has been started in the state which is aimed at stopping child marriages and prevent drop out rates. He said that under the Sukanya Yojana right from the time of the birth of a girl child to her marriage a sum of Rs 70,000 would be provided by the state government and under this scheme, two daughters in a family would be covered as the state government was committed for all round development of the daughters. He asked the people present on the occasion to give equal opportunities to their daughters to study and said that literacy can only help in removing poverty from the state.

Mr Das pointed that vote Bank politics has dealt extreme losses to the country and asked the common people not to get mislead and said that with the corporation of all India was marching ahead to become a superpower. He said that the entire world was watching
India as a big power and is appreciating the works of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Those present on the occasion also included deputy chairman of state 20 point programme execution committee Rakesh Prasad,
Ranchi MP Ramtahal Chowdhary, Ranchi DC Rai Mahimpet Rey and others.
