Man gets death punishment for rape and murder of minor in Gumla

Gumla: A local court in this district today awarded capital punishment to an accused who was held guilty for raping and murdering a three year old minor.

The court of Additional District Judge (One) L Dubey awarded the punishment to the convict Bandhan Oraon and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him. The incident had occurred in Puso village under Sisai Police Station area of this district on September 23, 2018.

The father of the victim on September 25, 2018 had registered an FIR in this connection stating that his daughter was playing outside
the home in the afternoon when the accused Bandhan Oraon took her to his room where he raped the minor. When the parents of the girl returned to look for her he said that the girl was sleeping in her room.

However, as soon as the father carried his child in his arms he found blood marks on his hand and also on the bed in which the child was sleeping. As he raised an alarm Bandhan managed to flee from the spot but was later caught.
