Ranchi: Jharkhand Jaguar the elite force constituted to take on Maoists in the state on Tuesday celebrated its 11th formation year.
Speaking on the occasion IG Jharkhand Jaguar Ashish Batra said that so far 26 hardcore ultras have been killed and 257 arrested by the special team while 2018-19 has been the most successful year for the force as seven hardcore ultras were killed and a huge
quantity of arms and ammunition and explosive devices were recovered.
He said that Jharkhand Jaguar was playing an active role in wiping out the Maoists from the state. Jharkhand DGP DK Pandey who was also present on the occasion said that on regular basis jawans of Jharkhand Jaguar are being sent for training in other Institutions of the country and apart from that they are being provided 360 training with state police and Paramilitary forces.
He said that at present 40 assault groups and 12 BDDS teams are working actively in LWE areas including Palamu Garhwa Latehar Chaibasa Lohardaga Dumka and Giridih to help combat the Maoists. During the function, in the name of last year Martyrs barracks park and parade Grounds were named by the kin of the martyrs and a blood donation camp was also organised at the venue
