Daltonganj: security forces have recovered 24 landmines which were planted in a series from a rivulet flowing through in the Ara forest
under Pipratand Police Station area located on the bordering areas of Palamu and Chatra district. On receiving information a team of the bomb disposal squad later reached on the spot and destroyed the bombs.
In wake of the coming Lok Sabha polls to sanitize the area police has intensified its search operation in this bordering areas and
these bombs had been kept in a bag to inflict damage on the security forces who travel on foot.
ASP operations Arun Kumar said that following a secret tip off the 24 bombs each weighing about 200 grams were uncovered. He said that these bombs had been planted to inflict damage on security forces who walked on put inside this dense forest.
