Community marriage helps to reduce extra cost and is helpful for the economically challenged

Gumla: Stating that community marriages have a long-term impact Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that not only it
helps to reduce the extra cost incurred on organizing lavish marriage ceremonies but also helps to reduce the financial burden on the
economically weak families. 

Addressing the community marriage come Jatra program here he congratulated the organizers for the marriage of 27 couples and said that community marriages were a result of positive thought towards the welfare of the society. The Chief Minister said that all needed to come together for a common cause then only poverty would be eradicated from the state and it was due to the corporation of the society that he has become the Mukhya Sevak of the state and called upon the members of the community to work for the betterment of the poor and have-nots of the community.

Mr Das said that the main aim of the government is to ensure that the schemes reaches to the common people and said that Sukanya Yojana has been implemented for the daughters of the state and asked the people to get their girls admitted in the school and assured that from the time of the birth of the girl to her marriage a sum of Rs 70,000 would be given by the state government and he also asked the people to create awareness about this scheme among other members of the community.

Mr Das said that to ensure that backwards in the state also get reservation the government was undertaking survey work in Santhal Pargana and other divisions of the state and a list has been also sent to the TRI regarding providing reservation to the backward
caste and once the report comes a decision would be taken and assured that any decision would only be taken keeping in mind the interest of the 3.25 crore people of Jharkhand and said that it is also the effort of the state government that backwards in the state get their due reservation in the jobs and assured the members of the community that they would get their rights. He said that since there was a lack of government job, therefore, the focus has been accorded on skill development and the government was spending Rs 700 crore for enhancing the skills of the youth.

He said that in the year 2014 the number of women self help groups in the state was just 8000 which in the last four years has increased to 1 lakh and added that for economic empowerment of the woman they have been provided Bank linkages while poultry federation is also being formed so that women can get involved in egg production and earn extra income. The Chief Minister said that bringing a smile on the faces of the farmers is the main purpose of the central and the state government due to which under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Samman Yojana a sum of Rs 6000 would be given for per acre of land while under Mukhyamantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana per acre of land Rs 5000 would be given and these steps could only be taken as there was a permanent government in both in the centre and the state. The Chief Minister said that some anti-national forces are trying to destroy the culture of the tribals and there was a need to fight jointly against such forces and build such a culture so that the future generations can also continue to live with them. However, he said that the government will not tolerate any acts of religious conversion carried through luring of the people. 

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also announced that the organizers would get Rs 2000 for every marriage and also announced a sum of Rs one lakh for the family members of the deceased florist and directed the Gumla DC to immediately provide the funds to the
family. Present on the occasion also included Union Minister Sudarshan Bhagat Jharkhand assembly speaker Dr Dinesh Oraon Gumla DC Shashi Ranjan SP Gumla and other officials.
