Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda inaugurates Dubiyakhand Mela in Palamu

Daltonganj: Rural Development Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda today inaugurated the historic Dubiyakhand Mela in the Palamu
District. Prior to that, the minister garlanded the statue of Raja Medni Rai and also distributed deeds and assets among the beneficiaries of the various government schemes.

Speaking on the occasion the minister said that there was a need to maintain and keep alive the identity and culture of the tribal community. He said that Jharkhand is the land of a struggle of the tribals and also recalled the rule of Raja Medni Rai who had worked all his life long for the welfare of his subjects. Mr. Munda said that the state government was working for the development of the tribals who have been only used as vote banks by the other parties.

During the function, a mass marriage ceremony was also organized. The event was also graced by Palamu DC Shantanu Kumar Agrahari and Zilla Parishad chairperson Prabha Devi.
