Encounter between police and PLFI in Gumla

Gumla: An an encounter on Saturday took place between the police and PLFI Ultras in Kisani Bagicha Toli under Kumara police station area of this district. The two sides exchanged bullets on frequent intervals for about 90 minutes after which the ultras managed to flee into the deeper reaches of the forest taking advantage of the thick surroundings and the rain.

Basia SDPO Deepak Kumar said that Gumla SP had received a secret tip of that hardcore Ultra Dinesh Gope and other senior commanders had gathered in the area to collect levy and execute a big crime after which team comprising SAT and Jharkhand Jaguar conducted raids and cordoned off the area.

The security forces of five suspected men who were asked to stop but instead they opened fire to which the forces retaliated, however, the ultras managed to flee from the spot. Later a search operation was conducted in the region in which items of daily use, dry ration Aadhar Card and other items were recovered.
