Ranchi: Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Dinesh Oraon said that this year budget session has been the most fruitful so far barring a few incidents of clash between the opposition and the treasury benches. In his concluding day speech, Mr Oraon said that the separate state of Jharkhand was formed to protect the separate culture and identity of the tribals of the state and in the last 18 years many steps have been taken to ensure their all-round development.
He said that formation of a separate Commission for the scheduled tribes and the legislation in this regard was unanimously passed in the house and soon it would be sent to the Governor for her consent after which it is expected that the commission would play an active role in solving the problems of the people belonging to the community. The speaker said that during the session 65 call attention motions were moved out of which on 60 the government gave its reply.
Mr Oraon said that Vidhan Sabha was the biggest platform for solving the problems of the people and pointed that during the budget session total of three chief minister’s question hour was held and a total of 1065 questions were received by the Assembly out of which 947 were approved which included shortlisted and star questions and he was happy to inform that answers of 72% questions were received online.
However, he was disheartened with the fact that many senior officials do not take the proceedings of the house seriously and were not present in their enclosure following which he was forced to make stern comments from the chair and hope things would improve going forward into the future.
