4 dead 15 others injured as truck hits pick up van full of pilgrims in Deoghar

Deoghar: Four people including three women were killed as pickup van full of pilgrims was hit by a LPG cyclinder laden truck near
Ghormara on the Deoghar- Dumka main road under Mohanpur Police Station area of this district today. Police said that such was
the impact of the accident that four people including the three women were killed on the spot while 15 others were injured among whom condition of 8 was stated to be serious. All the injured have been admitted at Sadar Hospital.

The deceased included Narayan Mandal (45) his wife and his mother while another woman has been identified as wife of Kameshwar Mandal. All the deceased and the injured hailed from Gangrahi village under Hathaudi Police Station area of Samastipur district of Bihar. The occupants of the vehicle were going to Basukinath Dham after offering prayers at Bab Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar. Post the incident the truck driver managed to flee from the spot leaving the vehicle behind which was later seized by the police.
