Construction work on Ganga in Sahibganj to commence soon: Neelkanth

Ranchi: The construction work on the high level Ganga bridge which would be connecting Sahibganj with Manihari of Bihar would commence soon Parliamentary Affairs Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda said during the ongoing Budget Session of the state assembly.
A question in this regard was raised by JVM(P) MLA Pradeep Yadav during the question hour. However as he was not present Latehar MLA Prakash Ram asking from his behalf demanded answers from the government as to when the construction of the bridge would commence as the Prime Minister himself had laid the foundation for the project on April 6, 2017. Joining him Congress MLA Sukhdeo Bhagat asked that whether the foundation for the project was laid before inking of agreement with the construction company which would execute the work.

Replying over the issue Parliamentary Affairs Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda said that people of Bihar and Jharkhand believe that the bridge would be built soon. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone for the project as the bridge
was approved by the central government and the Prime Minister himself would  inaugurate the bridge once it is completed he said drawing applause from the treasury benches. Intervening into the matter MLA Radha Krishna Kishore said that the words of the minister showed the confidence and commitment of the BJP and said that when the foundation has been laid than the bridge would
be definitely completely and inaugurated. Stephen Marandi of the JMM pointed that such is the confidence and commitment of the BJP
that before completing the Gobindpur-Sahibganj road it was made to be inaugurated by the BJP.

On the other hand, Mr Bhagat said that confidence and commitment of the BJP was reflected from the fact that it has been 22 months
since the foundation was laid for the bridge but yet the construction has not commenced. To the allegations of Mr Stephen Marandi the
minister said that a very good quality road has been built from Gobinpur to Sahibganj which is also used by the MLAs of the Santhal
Pargana region to travel and said that the project was only inaugurated after it had been completed fully. Detailing the finer details
of the project Mr Neelkanth Singh Munda said that there is a certain procedure involved in the execution of projects to be taken on PPP mode including the furnishing of bank guarantees and making arrangements of the finances due to which the project was delayed however soon work would commence on the construction of the bridge.
