Ranchi: National Deworming Day would be organized in the state on February 8 while the mocking up day would be held on February
14th. Addressing a Press Conference at the Suchana Bhawan here NRHM director Krupanand Jahan sad that worming infection has emerged as a common problem and according to the WHO data 22 crore children in the age group 5 to 14 years are hit with worm
He said the purpose of the national deworming day was aimed at making all children and teenagers of the state healthy and improving there quality of health. He said that since the worm infection was not physically visible therefore it also causes bad effects on the health and all round development of the children and to stop this 400 milligrams doses of Albendazole would be given to the children and also as the media to create awareness so that no children is left off.
In the Press Conference, it was informed that the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Union Ministry of Human Resource Development and women and child development this is a Pan India program has been included under the Gram Swaraj campaign. It was said that in the program to be held on February 8 2019 a target has been set to provide the doors 1.42 crore children in the state which also included 25.0 8 children of the private school. Keeping in mind the infection in the intestine of the children and youth in the age group 1 to 19 years it has been decided that the medicine would be distributed in the different Government and Private schools Anganwadi centre and inter colleges.
It was also informed that the children between the age group 1 to 2 years would be given a half dose of the medicine while those between 2 to 19 years would be given one medicine each. On the occasion, Dr Ajit Prasad through PPT shed light on the effects of worm infection in the children and the methods of its treatment. Those present on the occasion also included IPRD director Ram Lakhan Prasad Gupta and other officials of the health department.
