High level meeting on irregularities in high school teacher appointments on Feb 7

Ranchi: A high-level meeting would be held on February 7 in the chamber of the Jharkhand assembly speaker Dinesh Oraon over the
irregularities committed in the high school teacher appointment in the state. In the meeting apart from the HRD Minister Neera Yadav many other senior officials would be participating.

Earlier a question in this regard was raised by Congress MLA Alamgir Alam during the question hour following which heated arguments took place between the members of the treasury benches and opposition benches after which speaker Dinesh Oraon had to intervene and give directions from the chair in this regard.

Mr Alam had sought to know that the advertisement was not as per the regulation for the appointment in the post of high school teachers in the state. Many MLA’s including Pradeep Yadav Radha Krishna Kishore Anant Ojha and Naveen Jaiswal pointed that in the advertisement there was a provision to appoint 75% post through direct appointment while another 25% would be given to primary teachers however many seats are left vacant as teachers of the primary schools could not cross the cutoff marks while in direct quota seat many students had been declared successful and demanded that they should be appointed in the vacant post as also is the rules and regulations in the advertisement.

On the other hand, Minister Neera Yadav said that so far results have been only declared for Santhal Pargana division and Lohardaga district and after the results of all the districts are declared the department would have a detailed look over the issue and she said that result of those districts should not be viewed with the other districts.

Ministers Saryu Rai and Neelkanth Singh Munda also tried to defend their colleague but could not satisfy the opposition following which speaker had to intervene and issue the directions in this regard.
