Chief Secretary asks employees organisation to dcide whether they want health insurance or allowance

Ranchi: Jharkhand chief secretary Sudhir Tripathi said that different Employees Association of the state on regular basis demand group medical insurance scheme and keeping that in mind of s plan has been framed to provide family group insurance plan to the employees and the performance of the same was shared with the office bearers of the different organisations. 

He said that at present in only two States Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir Health Insurance Scheme was being provided to the Employees and has asked the different organisations to give in written the decision over the matter till February 15th and decide whether they want Health Insurance Scheme or allowance. 

The chief secretary said that there are a total of 70000 employees in the police department and about 1.20 lakh in the Civil department. Through a detailed presentation, the office bearers of the associations apprised about the final details of the Health Insurance Scheme and their queries also answered.

It was informed that the parents of the employee apart from his spouse and two children will be included in this is scheme so that they can take advantage of the Insurance scheme in any part of the country. He said that under the scheme the beneficiary would be entitled for a cashless Insurance of rupees 500000 and and the same could be increased to rupees 10 lakh however if the expenditure exceeds the amount then the procedure has to be completed through the board and the remaining payment has to be made and separately for this a provision of rupees 25 crores would be made.

Those present in the meeting also included additional chief secretary of the personnel department KK Khandelwal and health secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni.
