15th September to 2nd October to be observed as 'Cleanliness is Service' program : Das

Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that from 15th September to 2nd October 2018, cleanliness is service program will run under Clean India Mission in the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start the program at 9:30 am on September 15. Under this, the chief ministers, ministers and other officials will have to dedicate one hour daily for cleanliness. To make this program successful, public participation is necessary. The Chief Minister said this while addressing the Sanitation Survey 2019, Regional Workshop organized in Project Building.

Chief Minister said that service days will be celebrated throughout the state from September 17 to September 25, 2018. On these days, medical camps will be installed in the slum areas of various municipalities of the state. In addition short film on life of PM ‘Film Chalo Jeete Hai’ will be screened in LED vans and on permanent screens. This film gives a message to people about how a boy from a poor family can represent the country. Chief Minister said that on 23 September 2018 Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is coming to Jharkhand to launch ambitious plan Ayushman India. Under this, health insurance of 5 lakh rupees will be insured for 57 lakh families of Jharkhand state. Foundation stone will also be laid for a cancer hospital in Ranchi and medical college in Chaibasa and Koderma on September 23, 2018. 

Chief Minister said that in the coming years, Jharkhand will play a decisive role in making India a powerful nation at the international level. The aim of the government is to make healthy Jharkhand along with development. 80% of diseases are due to open defecation. It is the responsibility of all of us to get 100 percent utilization of toilets. 

Chief Minister congratulated various local bodies of the state, which received the award in the Regional Workshop of Sanitation Survey 2019. He said that it is the result of all the hard work that today Jharkhand is doing good job in different areas.The Chief Minister said that even after 67 years of independence, the dream of Clean India of Mahatma Gandhi could not be completed. To fulfill this dream, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi launched the Clean India Mission and said dedicating clean India to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary will be a true tribute to him.

Chief Minister said that government's goal is to make Jharkhand open defecation free till October 2, 2018. The Chief Minister said that in a survey of WHO, it has been found that due to dirt every year per person suffers 6500 financial loss. If we can build clean Jharkhand by 2019, then the financial savings of 6500 rupees per person can be done.

Chief Minister said that on the next 18th, a meeting will be organized with all the workers of the municipal corporation and the team of the municipal council. In the field of cleanliness under the Quality Council of India, 17 recertified ODF district’s local bodies has been awarded with certificate by the Chief Minister which includes Chas, Chaibasa, Fusro, Chirkunda, Jhumitilaiya, Giridih, Khunti, Godda, Gumla, Jamshedpur, Jamtada, Lohardaga, Manjhiaon, Mango, Medininagar, Bishrampur and Pakur.

On this occasion, the Minister of Urban Development, C.P. Singh said that Jharkhand is doing a good job in the field of cleanliness under the leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi and Honorable Chief Minister of the State, Raghubar Das. The Minister said that it is the responsibility of government machinery, Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council, Nagar Panchayat to ensure cleanliness in the state. He said that on June 21, the Hon’ble Prime Minister gave Best Performance State Award in the field of cleanliness to Jharkhand in Indore. I was feeling very proud when I received this award. He also said that there is a need to develop a system in Jharkhand where even the public should be aware of hygiene. Spirit of competition towards cleanliness should be awakened.

On this occasion, Urban Development Minister, C.P. Singh, Mayor, Asha Lanka, Secretary, Urban Development Department, Ajay Kumar Singh. Director State Urban Development Agency Amit Kumar, Municipal Commissioner Manoj Kumar, Deputy Advisor CPHEO Government of India Dr. Ramakant and members of all the Municipal Corporations of the State were present.
