Congress has always remained committed for upliftment of tribals: Bhupesh Bhaghel

Ranchi: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Bhaghel on Wednesday said that the Congress party has always remained committed for the upliftment of the tribals and ensuring that they get their due rights.

Speaking at a function organised at the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters here he said that Jharkhand is organising the first tribal festival which is a matter of pride for the state. He said that tribals are always known as those who protect forest and environment and the Congress party has always remained committed to ensuring that they get their due.

He said that the Gaurav Yatra being organised by the party on the occasion of the 75th year of Independence is a matter of pride as through this campaign the youth will be made aware of the journey of the country and its progress.

Attacking the Centre he said that inflation and unemployment have reached new heights in the country and it appears that the centre has no control over the cost of essential items. Bhaghel said that since the Congress party keeps raising the issues of the people therefore they are being troubled but the party is not going to be scared nor will take back its steps. 

Continuing further he said that the Angnipath Yojana is aimed at playing with the future of the youth. He said that as prices of petrol and diesel have skyrocketed the prices of agriculture produce and their transportation has become costly. On the other hand industrial houses are getting loan wavier worth crores while youth are on the street in search of jobs.

Earlier upon his arrival at the airport, he was welcomed by the state Congress leaders. He also participated in the Gaurav Yatra from Hinoo Chowk to Birsa Chowk where he garlanded at the statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister is the Chief Guest for the conclusion ceremony of the Jharkhand Tribal Festival which is being held at the Morhabadi Grounds of the state capital.
