Latehar: A group of six criminals tried to create panic at the Kumhasi railway siding located under Balumath Police Station area of this district on Sunday and also injured a villager in their act. However, their motive backfired as the villagers surrounded them and managed to catch two of them who were badly thrashed before being handed over to the police.
The nabbed criminals have been identified as Ramnandan Singh and Kundan Tiwari who were after providing first aid sent to RIMS Ranchi for better aid. SDPO Balumath Nitin Khandelwal said that six criminals on Sunday morning opened firing at Kusmahi railway coal siding out of which two were caught.
The names of the other four have been also divulged and raids were on to nab them. He said that the incident was caused due to establish supremacy in the area and collect levy but the intentions of the criminals were unsuccessful due to the bravery of the villagers, he added. A motorcycle of criminals has also been recovered from the spot.
