Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu has asked to encourage sports and cultural talent among the students as children of Jharkhand are extremely talented in diversified fields.
Addressing at the conclusion ceremony of the Chancellor Cup Athletics Meet organized at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University here she said there are many sportspersons from the state who have made a name for themselves in the entire world whereas in the field of arts also the state was blessed with natural and mineral wealth and was also culturally rich therefore steps also needed to be taken to encourage them.
She said that participating in sports helps to strengthen the sportsman spirit and also gives belief to fight the odd in life. It also teaches that people need to continue their struggle as long as life exists but without being worried. Ms Murmu said that there are numerous examples around the world related to the odds which were faced by the people on and off the field. The Governor said that playing together also increases the feeling of community bonding and instead of jealousy and feud paves way for respect and cooperation.
She said that each and every child was full of possibilities and all of them are talented in their own way and suggested that instead of following anyone they should chart upon their own course of life. In her message to the students, she said that if they remain in discipline and make honest and dedicated efforts than no goal would be difficult for them to achieve. The governor also asked the people present in the function to make an honest participation in building a strong and empowered nation.
