DTO conducts surprise raid, 10 vehicles seized, fine of Rs 51000 collected

Ranchi: District Transport Officer Sanjeev Kumar on Saturday conducted a surprise raid on the heavy vehicle plying in Pithoria during
which 10 vehicles were seized which were operating without proper documents while fine was also collected from several others for
overloading and missing papers.

A total of Rs 51,000 was collected as fine while two vehicles were seized on the charges of violating various sections of the MV Act. All the seized vehicles were later handed over to the Pithoria Police Station. The DTO said that crackdown against the vehicles which are operating without proper paper will continue and no respite will also be given to those which would be caught for overloading.
