Dumka: A local court in this district awarded life imprisonment to nine accused who were held guilty in a witchcraft related death and also imposed a fine of Rs 1.08 lakh.
The court of district and additional sessions judge (second) Pawan Kumar awarded the punishment in the case. Additional Public prosecutor Surendra Prasad Sinha said that on the statement of one Vilasi Devi of Majdiha village under Jarmundi Police Station area of this district a named FIR was registered.
In which the accused were held responsible for killing on Muni Devi on December 13, 2013 and later her body was tied in a sack and the culprits had tried to burn it.
