Anganwadi problems in Jharkhand will be resolved soon: Union Minister

Ranchi: Union Minister of State Dr Munjpara Mahendrabhai said that whatever is the demand related to Anganwadi in Jharkhand, it will be fulfilled. He said that the Government of India is giving priority to children, especially women, in its schemes be it Matri- Shishu Yojana, Nirbhay Fund, PM Matru Vandana Yojana, or construction of crche facilities and new hostels for working women in government institutions, PM Jan Arogya Yojana, Mudra Yojana, Start Up India or Stand Up India in all this, women have been given prominence. He was speaking at the meeting of 2030 - Sustainable Development Goal organized by the Ministry of Women, Child and Welfare
on Saturday.

The Minister of State said that today more than 12 lakh Anganwadi centers in the country have drinking water facility, while toilets have been arranged in more than 11 lakh. In the Mudra Yojana, more than 60 percent of the loans are given in the name of women. Today, in many states in the country, there is 50 percent women’s reservation in panchayats, this government has also given women the opportunity to study in Sainik Schools.

The Minister of Women, Child Development and Social Welfare of the host state Jharkhand Joba Majhi, in her address, said that 40 percent of the children in the state are malnourished, the Chief Minister organized a week in the Anganwadi for the children of 3-6 years to deal with this problem. It has been instructed to provide 6 eggs.

She also drew the attention of the Union Minister towards the reduction in the assistance amount from the Center, and requested to restore the Poshan Sakhi in the state and provide assistance for the construction/ reconstruction of a few more than 12,600 Anganwadi centers in the state. Indivar Pandey, Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development informed that with a new commitment to empowering the future of Indian children and women of the country the Ministry is majorly working on three new missions - Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, Mission Shakti and Mission Vatsalya.

Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 aims to ensure the nutritional needs of women and children. Mission Shakti aims to provide solutions for women’s safety, rehabilitation and empowerment, and ensure child protection and comprehensive child welfare and development under Mission Vatsalya he says adding special attention should be paid to achieving in the districts. In the 75th year of independence, the country is setting goals of inclusive development for the next 25 years.

It is also a time to reflect on achievements, celebrate them and move forward to perform better, looking forward to a brighter future with full commitment and enthusiasm. For this purpose, the Ministry of Women and Child Development decided to organize a series of regional and sub-regional meetings across the country from June 2022.

After organizing in many parts of the country, today on 02.07.2022 this meeting was held in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand under the guidance of NITI Aayog, in which senior officers/ representatives of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha along with NITI Aayog. Earlier in his welcome address, Director - Women, Child Development and Social Welfare, Government of Jharkhand A Dode welcomed all the participants of this regional meeting organized on the topic ‘Impact on Women and Children in Aspirational Districts’, Dode said that his department is working diligently for the welfare of this particular section in Jharkhand as a whole.
