Jharkhand health minister donates blood impromptu at MGMMCH Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Health Minister Banna Gupta donated blood impromptu to a needy patient admitted at the MGM Medical College Hospital where the minister had gone to inaugurate a testing lab.

Banna Gupta was carrying out a casual inspection of the medical college hospital after inaugurating the testing facility at noon when a woman approached him for help. The woman in distress, who was from Kalikapur village in Potka block of the East Singhbhum district, while meeting the minister apprised him that her husband was in dire need of blood which is not available in the hospital.

She requested the minister if he can do something in arranging the blood for her husband who is struggling for life at the hospital. On giving heed to the woman’s request, the minister did not lose a minute and instantly instructed the hospital authority accompanying him during the inspection to take him to the blood bank for making him donate the blood.

Having donated the blood, Banna Gupta ensured that the patient in question was administered the same and then only he completed the inspection. After the exercise of the impromptu blood donation was over, the minister who represents the Jamshedpur West assembly constituency urged the people to donate blood as much as they can for saving precious lives.

“It is not only the doctors’ fraternity responsible for effective treatment of patients in any hospital. Rather the people, in general, have also a moral responsibility for the well-being of patients which can be met by making the blood donation, said Banna Gupta while talking to the media.
