45 bonded labourers including six children rescued from brick kiln in Hazaribagh

Hazaribagh: Following the directions of the district administration a  raid was conducted at a brick kiln which was being operated in Barkagaon Police Station area of this district and 39 men and women six children were rescued.

The raids were led by BDO Rakesh Kumar, CO Vaibhab Kumar and observer Pawan Kumar. The officials said that raid was conducted at a brick kiln which was being operated by one Azhar Ali and these people were rescued. An FIR in this case will also be registered at the local police station.

One of the labourers said that they all hail from Chhattisgarh and had been brought to the area by a middlemen to work in the brick kiln. The middle man who also is a native of that state fled after 3-4 days and the owner of the kiln use to the give per family Rs 500 after work of six days and even the children were forced to work in the brick kiln.

The victims said that they were held captive by the owner who also use to inflict atrocities on them and forced them to work.
