Railways commences preparations for Shravani Mela, to run special trains for Kanwariyas

Deoghar: Railways has intensified the preparations for Shravani Mela to be held after two years.  

Many railway officials including DRM Parmanand Sharma of the Asansol Division inspected Jasidih, Deoghar, Baidyanathdham and Basukinath railway stations and took stock of the passenger facilities.

On this occasion, DRM Sharma said that after two years Shravani Mela is going to be organized this year.  Due to which 30 to 40 percent additional crowd is going to increase.  He said that Special attention will be paid to the convenience and safety of passengers and devotees and in view of this additional ticket, counters will be increased at all the four stations.

He said that Deoghar Railway Station is going to be used during the fair this year. An additional one or two special trains will be run for Sultanganj from Deoghar station for the passengers and devotees coming to Jasidih station and catching the train from other places including Banka, Katoria.  Apart from this, the special trains that were being run earlier during the Shravani Mela will also be made operational. He further said that Pandals will be set up at the station.  In addition, there will be additional arrangements for drinking water and toilets.

The DRM said that after the announcement of the train do not change the platform of the train under any condition, do not let the crowd gather on the foot overbridge.  He said that 18 additional ticket counters will be made operational at Jasidih station and in this, 10 will be in the old circulating area and eight will be in the new circulating area.  Two stalls will be opened for food and drinks. He said that no passenger should cross the railway line, and take care of it moreover there will be a team of doctors 24 hours for the passengers and devotees at the stations.

Railway officials, including the DRM, inspected the Baidyanathdham station and saw the arrangements for the stay of the passengers and the railway personnel and police personnel coming from outside.  After this, they reached Deoghar station, where instructions were given to increase the additional ticket counter during the fair.  Special attention was given to drinking water, toilets and cleanliness at both the stations.  The DRM said that due to the running of the Deoghar-Sultanganj special train, there will be an additional crowd of devotees at Deoghar station in such a situation, make better arrangements for their safety as well.
