J'khand govt increases the registration limit for GST from 20 lakh to 40 lakhs

Ranchi: 80 thousand small and medium traders in Jharkhand will not have to pay GST. In the state, the registration limit for GST has been increased from 20 lakh to 40 lakhs. Chief Minister Raghubar Das has given directive in this regard to the Commerce Secretary in a review meeting today.

This decision of the government will not require 80 thousand traders to register for GST. The Chief Minister said that between 20 lakhs and 40 lakhs, a large number of traders fall within the purview of GST. It is to be noted that in the meeting of GST Council on January 10, the decision to increase the limit of registration for GST to 20 lakhs to 40 lakhs was left to the state governments. In the light of this decision, the Jharkhand government has decided to give relief to traders.
