Chaibasa: Income tax raids took place on Wednesday morning at the house and office of the owner of TPSL Group in Chaibasa of West Singhbhum district. The raid was started by the officials at around 8 pm.
The combined team from Jamshedpur and Ranchi knocked together with the officers having arrived in a total of 15 vehicles. TPSL Group is mainly engaged in the business of Iron. The residential office of the company is in Chaibasa.
Apart from this, it also has its offices in Kolkata, Rourkela. An iron ore mine was allotted to the company in the Nuwamundi block of West Singhbhum district. It is being claimed that it is closed for the last 10- 12 years.
A mine in the name of the company was allotted in the name of RP Saw in Joda, Odisha. Its lease period has expired on 31 March 2020. Presently steel rod is being produced in the name of TPSL Gold at Jharsuguda, Odisha.
The company’s sponge factory is also operating in Rourkela, Odisha. More than 30 officers in the Income Tax Department team had reached the company’s office and residence for investigation.
