Dhanbad: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said community marriages were not a mere function but have their long
term implications on society. Addressing the people while participating in all religious community marriage held at golf ground here he said that one of the main reasons behind organising the community marriages is that the burden should be reduced on the economically weak people.
He said that the members of the community have been serving the people for the last five years which should be made a people’s movement and similar work is being done by the state government in the state. The Chief Minister said that said that all the couples who belong to the BPL category should give an application to the Dhanbad DC and can get the Rs 30000 which is being provided by the state government. He said that from January 24 Mukhyamantri Sukanya Yojana is being started for the empowerment of the daughters of the state which is aimed at reducing the child marriages and ensuring them a good education. He said that under the scheme after a girl child is born a sum of Rs 5000 will be transferred into the account of the mother and subsequently in different stages of education a sum of Rs 5000 will be provided and when the girl turns 18 another Rs 10000 would be deposited and when the girl would be getting married she would get another Rs 30000 under Mukhyamantri Kanyadaan Yojana.
The Chief Minister announced that the members who have organised the community marriage will be given Rs 2000 each while those performing the cremation of poor would also get Rs 2000. Mr Das said soon a flyover with an investment of Rs 248 crore would be built in the Dhanbad as a proposal in this regard would be passed by the cabinet and said that centre has fulfilled all the promises which were made with Dhanbad.
He said that for the first time in the present government 30 percent funds from the district mining fund is being used for the welfare of the people and Rs 1000 crore is being spent on execution of drinking water supply schemes in the state. When the people present at the venue urged the Chief Minister to start a super speciality hospital in Dhanbad he said that the hospital should be started on PPP mode and assured that land for the same would be given within a month but it should consist of details of the services which would be provided to poor. He said that the purpose of human life should not be confined to only earning money.
Mr Das said that the schemes of the central and the state government are meant for the poor but those who ruled for 70 years their hand has been with the rich but the present government without discriminating against any community was providing the benefits of the schemes to all the people whether it was PMAY or Ujjwala Yojana. He said that some elements were deliberately trying to disturb the environment but the present government was off the view that the constitution was one for everyone. The women present in the function asked the Chief Minister to get an airport built in Dhanbad over which he said work was on to build an airport in Bokaro however effort will be made to build an airport in Dhanbad.
He said that Prime Minister is of the view that those who wear slippers should be able to travel in air and soon work would commence to land Boeing aircraft in Dhalbumgarh.
