Chief Minister flags off group of 24 women farmers to Israel

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das flagged off a group of 24 women farmers to Israel. Speaking to the women farmers at his residence here he said that he was extremely happy to meet the women farmers and their eagerness is an indication that it days to
come no one can stop them from going forward. He said that the women of the state were forward in every field including agriculture, animal husbandry and horticulture. 

Mr Das said that to help these women learn the new techniques of agriculture they are being sent to Israel and after learning the methods they would be providing training to the farmers of their area. He said that the Prime Minister is of the view that if the nation has to move forward that women should move forward. He said that it was due to the efforts of the farmers of the state that agriculture growth rate which was minus 4.5 percent has turned into a positive growth of 14 percent. He said that the achievements which have been made by the farmers of the state are an inspiration to others and said that if modern techniques are used than the income can be increased by four times.

Mr Das suggested the women farmers to collect all possible information during their visit to Israel and learn the art of cooperative farming and also learn the method of drip irrigation which has enabled a country like Israel to go green. He said that during his visit to the Santhal Pargana he had announced that the women would be set to Israel as they are no less than men. He said that whether it was sports agriculture of studies the women are on par with the men. He said that the government was trying to bring out their capabilities and the main purpose behind sending them to Israel is that there is huge demand of organic farm products and there was need to focus on organic farming which they should learn and said that whatever the vegetables would be cultivated by them it would be exported to other countries as the government will provide them with markets.

The Chief Minister said that that in last so many areas the parties have only given slogans but no promises were realized on the ground. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was working to provide roof on the head of the poor therefore people needed to keep in mind who can take the nation forward. He warned the women not be mislead and asked them to also focus on milk production and fisheries.  Agriculture Secretary Pooja Singhal said that earlier 54 men were sent to Israel to train who are now giving training to other farmers in their area. She said that in the delegation no men were travelling as all officials accompanying them were women. Those present also included Agriculture Minister Randhir Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Kumar
Barnwal and others.
