Construction of airport to further speed development in Dhalbumgarh: Raghubar

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that construction of an airport at Dhalbhumgarh would further speed up the development process in the area and the benefits of the airport will also be adjoined by the people of West Bengal and Odisha.

Reviewing the progress in construction of airports across the state with Union Aviation Secretary RN Choubey here he said that
construction of the airport will also encourage business and commercial activities and assured full cooperation of the state government
so that the airport can be completed on time. He said that at the end of this month Bhoomi Pujan will be done for the airport.

The Chief Minister said that for 70 years no one cared for the area however under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government the works are being done. He said that the construction of the airport will create jobs. He said that it is the dream of the Prime Minister that those wearing slippers can also travel in the plane so more people will be benefitted when the airport will be completed. Airports Authority of India Chairman Gurupad Mahapatra said that during the second world war an airstrip was built
in the area.

He said that Dhalbhumgarh airport will be constructed in two phases and in the first phase small aircraft would be made
operational by December 2020 while simultaneously work would also be on in the second phase. The Chief Minister said that the Deoghar airport will be ready by February 2020 from where aircrafts having a capacity of 180 people will be operated. The Union Aviation Secretary lauded the works which have been done for the displaced of the region and said that the rehabilitation works done are a role model which should be also implemented at other places. 

During the meeting construction of Dumka, Palamu, Bokaro and Jamshedpur airport was discussed. Those present on the occasion also included Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Barnwal and others.
