Chatra: Police has arrested a hardcore ultra of the CPI (Maoists) from Khurkheta forest under Vashisthnagar Jori Police Station area of this district along with a UK made rifle and 41 live cartridges.
Addressing a press conference here Chatra SP Akhilesh P Beruyer said that items which have been recovered from the Maoist included a UK manufactured 0.30 Springfield regular rifle, 41 live cartridges, ammunition pouch and other items of daily use.
The SP said that the arrested has been identified as Ajay Yadav who is a member of the maoist squad led by Alok. He said that the ultra was arrested during a search operation conducted by the district police and the 190th battalion of the CRPF. He said that the presence of UK made gun is a serious issue and a thorough probe would be conducted in this regard.
