Giridih: In a joint operation conducted by the district police and CRPF personnel couple of Maoists have been arrested along with explosive materials from Kudko forest located under Khukhra Police Station area of this district.
The arrested have been identified as Guluwa Soren alias Suresh Soren and Shiba Turi. Five pipe bombs, 25 gelatin sticks and 25 power gel have been recovered from their possession. The duo was also wanted in various cases including those related to the killing of five policemen in Dumri in the year 2004.
ASP Deepak Kumar said that the duo were wanted in numerous Maoist related incident. Among them, 10 cases are registered against Siba Turi while cases against Soren are registered at Pirtand and Topchanchi Police Station area of Dhanbad district. He said that he had received a secret tip-off regarding Maoists planning to carry out IED explosion to execute a big incident after which police teams were constituted to nab the ultras.
