Ranchi: Police has recovered the half-burnt body of a woman near a bridge under Chanho Police Station area of this district. Early in the day the body was spotted by the villagers who alerted the police after which a team led by Khelari DSP Purushottam Singh reached on the spot and inquired into the matter.
A dog squad and SFL team were also called on the spot for finding clues. Police said that it appears the woman was first murdered and later the body was burnt to hide the evidence. The identity of the victim is yet to be ascertained. Police has recovered a shawl and some other clothes from the spot including empty beer cans.
