Four vehicles including truck and JCB set on fire by Maoists in Chatra

Chatra: Armed Maoists set on fire four vehicles involved in a road construction project at Rajpur village under Pratappur Police Station area of this district on Sunday evening. Police sources said that a group of 50-60 maoists who had reached on the spot created havoc and set on fire a JCB machine, a truck and a bike among the four vehicles. Upon receiving information a police team reached on the
spot and has recovered naxal literature from the site.

Police suspected that the incident was executed by the Maoists for the want of levy. Upon receiving information a police team led by Chatra SP Akhilesh P Beriyer, ASP Operations Nigam Prasad and SDPO Varun Razak reached on the spot and inquired into the incident. The road was being conducted to Rahharia from Pratappur.
