Efforts to set up High Court bench in Dumka intensified: CM

Dumka: Chief Minister Hemant Soren has said that efforts have been expedited towards the establishment of a division bench of the Jharkhand High Court in Dumka, the sub-capital of the state.

Chief Minister Hemant assured this to the delegation during the dedication of the demand letter under the leadership of Dumka District Advocates Association President Vijay Kumar Singh and General Secretary Rakesh Kumar on Tuesday evening. 

Many advocates including Dharmendra Kumar, Naresh Kumar were also included in the delegation. In the demand letter submitted by the District Advocates Association to the Chief Minister, under Section 25(3) of the Bihar Reorganization Bill, 2000, for the purpose of setting up a Bench of the High Court in Dumka, for the purpose of making proper seating arrangements during the performance of the advocates of Dumka district, and there is a demand to provide the former office building of the Superintendent of Police and to conduct judicial work by bringing the Court of Settlement Camp going on in different districts of Santal Pargana Division back to its headquarters in Dumka.
