CCL records 41.65MT of production in first three quarters, Dec output up by 17.7 pc

Ranchi: The Central Coal Fields is working to achieve 100 million tons of coal production in the next two years. Addressing a press conference here CCL Chairman cum CMD Gopal Singh said that in the first three quarters of this fiscal the overall production has
been 41.65 MT which is an average growth of 12 per cent across the three sectors while December 2018 has itself been a historic month as coal production jumped by 17.7 per cent.

“However all the coal production in Coal India has not been so good barring CCL which has been made possible only by the cooperation of all the stakeholders involved,” he said adding that there was a time when the production of the company hanged around 45-48 MT tones per year and there was also a time in 2012 when it was staring a closure.

However things have swiftly made a change around and CCL was scaling new heights with each passing year. Mr Singh said that the ultimate goal is to reach a production of 100 MT in the next one or two years which might not be a difficult task to achieve
going by the fact the company is guided by the principle of transparency, humanity and personal touch. The CMD said that the company has already charted out its priorities for the year 2019.

He said that first among them would be to identify the BPL families in its command area and help them in reducing their numbers while second would be focused on increasing the productivity. Mr Singh said that in an unique initiative it has been decided to divide the about 1200 staff and workers at the CCL headquarters into 48 groups having 50 members each and every quarter seminars and presentations would be organised and the out of box ideas coming from these would be implemented by the company. He said that the company has taken many initiatives for the well being of the BPL families which are making a change in their living and focus has been also accorded on skill development and education of the youth so that ultimately they can get jobs.
