Tourist and picnic spots get ready to welcome New Year in capital

Ranchi: All the prominent tourists' spots of the district including waterfalls dams and rivers are ready to welcome the merrymakers
on the occasion of New Year. On January 1 a large number of people from the capital will gather at Hundru, Dassam and Jonha falls including the ever popular Kanke and Rukka Dams to celebrate the new year while many others will be lining up at the main
temples of the city to pay their obeisance to the god to welcome the new year on an auspicious note. In wake of the heavy rush of the
people expected elaborate security arrangements have been made at all the tourists' spots.

Even on the last day of the year, a large number of people were spotted having family picnics and youth were found dancing on the latest Bollywood numbers. To prevent any untoward incident the district administration had deployed an adequate number of personnel at all the important locations while signage of dos and dont’s was also put up. At Hundru Dassam and Jonha falls in which tourists in large number from the neighbouring states of Bihar and West Bengal also come for the picnic at those place adequate numbers of local police along with divers have been posted.

Signage has been also put show casing danger marks in the water bodies. Along with that throughout the day patrolling and
vehicle checking drive will also be conducted as the administration has already warned the people not to indulge in nuisance after
consuming liqour.
