JPCC corners Raghubar Govt over blanket scam & other irregularities

Ranchi: Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee has attacked the state government over the blanket scam pointed out by the
CAG report and other irregularities which has been pointed by the auditors’ office in the state. Addressing a press conference at the JPCC headquarters here media incharge for the party Rajesh Thakur said that the report of the CAG has brought in open the real picture of zero tolerance policy on corruption as claimed by the state government.

He said that in the year 2016 the Labour Department had ordered for 9.82 lakh woollen blankets on the condition that it would be prepared by the local weavers unfortunately with the collaboration of the officials of the Jharcraft the conditions of the tender were violated and substandard blankets were purchased and on fake bills, the payment was made. Mr Thakur said that the concerned officer Renu Panikar is still missing while cabinet minister Saryu Rai is making claims that she had met him, therefore, the minister should open the details of his talks.

He said that the silence of the state government on this scam confirms that wrong has taken place. He said that not only this the office of the state government are also suspected of indulging in any other scam similar to the likes of Fodder Scam as gross irregularities were pointed in the name of providing the mineral mixture to the cattle. On the other hand, the CAG report has also showed that the agriculture and animal husbandry department has no data of a number of cows which have been distributed on subsidy in at least 18 districts.
