Four drown in Dam in Garhwa, incident happened while putting fishing net

Garhwa : Four youths lost their lives as they were drowned in Babhani Khad dam located under Bansidhar Nagar Police Station area of this district while putting up a net for catching fish.

Police said that the four had gone to put up the net near the gates of the dam on when the incident took place. When the gates of the Dam were opened in the morning the bodies were spotted floating in the canal connecting the dam. The deceased have been identified as Babloo Oraon (25), Anil Oraon (25), Amresh Oraon (17) and Nagendra Oraon (22).

All of them were residents of Nayakhad village. Police quoting villagers said that a total of nine people from the village had gone for fishing at the Dam out of which these four had gone at the gates of the dam to put up the fishing net.

As all of them failed to turn up after a while the remaining people raised an alarm but as they did not get any response the villagers were informed. Nearly three hours after the incident the bodies were found which were later sent for post-mortem to Garhwa Sadar Hospital.
